William Thompson, DVM
Dr. William Thompson grew up in Lexington, Kentucky metropolitan area. He discovered his passion for veterinary medicine while working at a local clinic as a co-op student in high school. He continued on his professional journey as a vet tech in two fast-paced private practice clinics until he received his bachelor’s degree.
Dr. Thompson graduated from The University of Kentucky with a bachelor’s degree in Animal Science in 2006. He earned his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Tuskegee University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2011 where he received awards for surgery. He has practiced medicine in Mobile and Baldwin County for the past ten years. His surgical specialties include: amputations, gastrointestinal surgery, spays/neuters, dentals, mass removals, exploratory surgery, and various other soft tissue surgeries. Diagnostic procedures, preventative medicine, and providing personalized stress-free medicine for pets is of the utmost importance to Dr. Thompson.
When Dr. Thompson is not practicing medicine; he enjoys spending time with his wife and three children. He currently has two fur babies: a cat (18 years old) whom he rescues as a newborn kitten and a blue heeler (5) who was dropped off at a previous clinic’s doorstep step. He loves to travel and experience new things with his family.
